Pressed Wild Flower workshop hosted by by Dorset artist Beth Kendall of Wilder & Wren. Check out her incredible work @wilderandwren
In this 2 hour workshop you will be creating your own bespoke piece of flower pressed art. All materials will be provided but do bring along your own pressed blooms if you have particular pieces you would like to work with.
The structure of the class is very free flowing. Attendees will learn how to identify local, sustainable and seasonal wildflowers suitable for pressing and how to choose shop-bought pressable flowers. You will have the opprtunity to make pressed flower artworks on cotton rag paper, including female forms and collage work. Beth will also provide large, smooth stones suitable for making a pressed flower paperweight, and oyster shells to create a pressed flower trinket dish. Bring along a heavy book to create a home-made flower press!
Workshop will run from 7-9pm and will be held at Store6, Poundbury.
Refreshments available to purchase.
Beth lives in rural Dorset and founded the small brand Wilder & Wren in 2016. Wilder & Wren offers a contemporary and bohemian twist on the old craft of flower pressing. Designs are inspired by wild femininity and the female gaze, motherhood, nature, astrology, folklore, Greek and Roman mythology and Victorian floriography.
Wilder & Wren has been featured in The Sunday Telegraph, The Sun’s Fabulous magazine, Homes & Antiques, The Simple Things magazine and on Mother & Baby and Grazia online. In addition, influencers, creatives and tastemakers including Laura Brand, Matilda Goad, Tess Newall, Pandora Sykes, Fearne Cotton and Lisa Faulkner have Beth’s prints and pieces decorating their homes.
